I am Noah and I am four years old. My brother Zion who is 3 years old has Autism Spectrum Disorder and 2020 has been a hard year for him.

What is Autism Spectrum Disorder you ask?

For sometime now I thought my brother had Autism because of me but it is in fact a developmental disorder which can cause social, communication and behavioral challenges. My parents told me that it is no-one's fault and that I am a great big brother. People with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from the way you and I may learn.

Zion likes routine so when COVID-19 happened his entire routine was thrown out the window. He also stopped attending nursery school and therapy which made him regress a lot. He stopped communicating and we had to use the Picture Exchange System again to help him communicate.

My mom was looking for ways to keep us busy and that is when we learned that Zion relaxes and focuses when he beads. He also talks when he beads which was helpful in teaching him new words. When he is having a bad day, or cries out of frustration he goes straight to the bead drawer and asks to bead.

When Zion beads he is calm and relaxed. I enjoy teaching him new patterns and words while we bead together. We use gemstone to make meaningful bracelets and it only made sense that we shared these beautiful beads with those around us.

We hope you enjoy our collection!
